Today a high power committee from the External  Affairs ministry of Govt. of India headed by Cabinet rank Secretaries Dr. AjaiChoudhry and Mr. B.K. Gupta  held discussions with community leaders of Pravasi Indians in US.  Mr. T. Cherian, Under Secretary[formerly with NY Consulate] also was in the team. They are  visiting the Consulates at New York, Houston and San Francisco where there have been  continuous protest on issues like Renunciation/surrender of old Indian passport for those who acquired US citizenship, OCI and Visa matters. The memorandums submitted to  the Dy. External Affairs Minister E. Ahamed, during his recent visit to US, compelled the ministry to send this delegation.
