അതിവേഗം പാശ്ചാത്യവത്കരിക്കപ്പെടുന്ന ഇന്നത്തെ സാമൂഹ്യ യാഥാര്‍ഥ്യങ്ങള്‍ മനസിലാക്കി, പുതുതലമുറയുടെ വിശ്വാസപരിശീലനരംഗത്തു പ്രവര്‍ത്തിക്കുന്നവര്‍ ജാഗ്രത പുലര്‍ത്തണമെന്ന മുന്നറിയിപ്പാണ് അദ്ദേഹം നല്കിയത്. പാസ്റ്ററല്‍ കൗണ്‍സില്‍ പോലുള്ള അജപാലന സമിതികളുടെ ആലോചനാവേദികളില്‍ കുടുംബത്തെക്കുറിച്ചുള്ള വിശകലനങ്ങള്‍ പങ്കുവയ്ക്കപ്പെടുക സ്വാഭാവികമാണ്.
സമൂഹത്തില്‍ വളര്‍ന്നുവരുന്ന നവലിബറല്‍ കാഴ്ചപ്പാടുകള്‍ കേരളം പോലെ, പരമ്പരാഗത മൂല്യങ്ങള്‍ക്കു പ്രാധാന്യം കൊടുക്കുന്ന സമൂഹങ്ങളില്‍ ഉണ്ടാക്കാവുന്ന സംഘര്‍ഷവും ഉത്കണ്ഠയുമാണു മാര്‍ ആനിക്കുഴിക്കാട്ടിലിന്റെ പ്രസ്താവനയിലുള്ളത്. കുടുംബബന്ധങ്ങളിലുണ്ടാകുന്ന തകര്‍ച്ച കണ്ടില്ലെന്നു നടിക്കാന്‍ സമുദായ- ആത്മീയ നേതൃതലങ്ങളില്‍ പ്രവര്‍ത്തിക്കുന്നവര്‍ക്കു സാധ്യമല്ല.
യുവജനങ്ങളുടെ ധാര്‍മിക പരിശീലനത്തിനു സഭ ഊന്നല്‍ നല്കണമെന്ന ആശയമാണ് അദ്ദേഹം പങ്കുവച്ചത്. അദ്ദേഹത്തിന്റെ വാക്കുകള്‍ ഏതെങ്കിലും സമുദായത്തിന്റെ ആത്മാഭിമാനത്തെ മുറിപ്പെടുത്താന്‍ ഉദ്ദേശിച്ചുള്ളതായിരുന്നില്ല. അങ്ങനെ ആര്‍ക്കെങ്കിലും തോന്നിയെങ്കില്‍ അതില്‍ ഖേദം പ്രകടിപ്പിക്കുന്നുവെന്നും അദ്ദേഹം പത്രക്കുറിപ്പില്‍ പറഞ്ഞു.

ആലപ്പുഴ: ഇടുക്കി രൂപത ബിഷപ് മാര്‍ മാത്യു ആനിക്കുഴിക്കാട്ടില്‍ വിഷം തുപ്പുന്ന വര്‍ഗീയവാദിയാണെന്ന് എസ്.എന്‍.ഡി.പി യോഗം ജനറല്‍ സെക്രട്ടറി വെള്ളാപ്പള്ളി നടേശന്‍ പറഞ്ഞു. മതസൗഹാര്‍ദ്ദം തകര്‍ക്കുന്ന തരത്തില്‍ പ്രസ്താവന നടത്തിയ ബിഷപ്പിനെതിരെ കേസെടുക്കണമെന്നും അദ്ദേഹം ആവശ്യപ്പെട്ടു. െ്രെകസ്തവ വിശ്വാസികളായ പെണ്കുട്ടികളെ പിടിച്ചുകൊണ്ടുപോകാന്‍ എസ്.എന്‍.ഡി.പി യോഗത്തിന് നിഗൂഢ അജണ്ടയുണ്ടെന്ന ബിഷപ്പിന്റെ പ്രസ്താവനയോട് പ്രതികരിക്കുകയായിരുന്നു വെള്ളാപ്പള്ളി.
ഒരു മതത്തിന്റെ ഉത്തരവാദപ്പെട്ട സ്ഥാനത്തിരിക്കുന്ന ബിഷപ്പ്, തന്റെ പദവിക്ക് ചേരാത്തതും ഒരിക്കലും നടത്താന്‍ പാടില്ലാത്തതുമായ പ്രസ്താവനയാണ് നടത്തിയത്. മര്യാദയില്ലാത്ത പ്രസ്താവനയാണ് ബിഷപ്പിന്റേതെന്നും വെള്ളാപ്പള്ളി പറഞ്ഞു. കോടികള്‍ മുടക്കി മതപരിവര്‍ത്തനം നടത്തുകയാണ് െ്രെകസ്തവ സഭകള്‍ ചെയ്യുന്നത്. ഇതിനായി െ്രെകസ്തവ സഭകള്‍ വിദേശ പണം ഒഴുക്കുകയാണെന്നും അദ്ദേഹം ആരോപിച്ചു.
ബിഷപ്പിന്റെ പ്രസ്താവനയില്‍ പ്രതിഷേധിച്ച് എസ്.എന്‍.ഡി.പി യൂത്ത് മൂവ്‌മെന്റ് പ്രവര്‍ത്തകര്‍ സെക്രട്ടേറിയറ്റിലേക്ക് മാര്‍ച്ച് നടത്തി.
അതിവേഗം പാശ്ചാത്യവത്കരിക്കപ്പെടുന്ന ഇന്നത്തെ സാമൂഹ്യ യാഥാര്‍ഥ്യങ്ങള്‍ മനസിലാക്കി, പുതുതലമുറയുടെ വിശ്വാസപരിശീലനരംഗത്തു പ്രവര്‍ത്തിക്കുന്നവര്‍ ജാഗ്രത പുലര്‍ത്തണമെന്ന മുന്നറിയിപ്പാണ് അദ്ദേഹം നല്കിയത്. പാസ്റ്ററല്‍ കൗണ്‍സില്‍ പോലുള്ള അജപാലന സമിതികളുടെ ആലോചനാവേദികളില്‍ കുടുംബത്തെക്കുറിച്ചുള്ള വിശകലനങ്ങള്‍ പങ്കുവയ്ക്കപ്പെടുക സ്വാഭാവികമാണ്.
സമൂഹത്തില്‍ വളര്‍ന്നുവരുന്ന നവലിബറല്‍ കാഴ്ചപ്പാടുകള്‍ കേരളം പോലെ, പരമ്പരാഗത മൂല്യങ്ങള്‍ക്കു പ്രാധാന്യം കൊടുക്കുന്ന സമൂഹങ്ങളില്‍ ഉണ്ടാക്കാവുന്ന സംഘര്‍ഷവും ഉത്കണ്ഠയുമാണു മാര്‍ ആനിക്കുഴിക്കാട്ടിലിന്റെ പ്രസ്താവനയിലുള്ളത്. കുടുംബബന്ധങ്ങളിലുണ്ടാകുന്ന തകര്‍ച്ച കണ്ടില്ലെന്നു നടിക്കാന്‍ സമുദായ- ആത്മീയ നേതൃതലങ്ങളില്‍ പ്രവര്‍ത്തിക്കുന്നവര്‍ക്കു സാധ്യമല്ല.

What the Bishop said is right. But he failed to articulate well what he had in mind without causing misunderstanding. Marriage is a relationship of trust. In marriage trust can be lost. There can be many reasons for it. In our eastern system of Christian arranged marriage which is a time proven method, the parents embark on the selection of the right bride or bridegroom for their children with prayer. The tradition is rooted in Bible. When Abraham wanted a girl for his son Isaac, he called his servant and entrusted with the task of bringing a bride for his son. Do you know any parents that send their servants to find a bride or bridegroom for their children? No! Abraham had faith that God will help the servant to find the right person. He was right. When God choose there can’t be any mistake though it can appear at times as a mistake. The experience gained in the relationship is only to build the persons involved. In Christian marriages parents embark on the mission with prayer to help them find the right person. Instead of letting God to select if consideration is given to other factors, it might become a failure. What is happening in arranged marriage is that the parents look for identical social and religious conditions in the relationship so that in the future there is little chance for conflict in the relationship. They look for similar educational, social and financial and religious background so that the chance of conflict in the relationship in future is reduced to a minimum. Otherwise husband or wife can think that the other person’s family is monkeys in status when his or her family is more advanced or better. This pride can cause problems in relationship. I personally encourage mixed marriage only if the bride and bridegroom are broad minded enough to think of each as valuable to respect each other. Otherwise it can end in divorce. The bishop is concerned about the increased divorce happening in opur society due to the unforeseen conflicts arising in relationships.

Isaac was blind. So of course he needed help to find a woman for him. His own father Abraham almost sacrificed him to please an unknown god. If angel did not find a goat to substitute, isaac would have been god's meal. Isaac never recovered from the shock of his father almost killing him. Even though he was saved by the angel, rest of his life he was a 'vegetable' He lost sense and sight and needed help to find a woman for him and he had difficulty in distinguish his own sons. On the other hand, Abraham had a beautiful wife, he send her for prostitution and tricked the men and collected lot of wealth. He had several concubines. They were women from all the different type of people. Can we the young generation imitate Abraham.
The biblical ' fathers' too had women from all different type and concubines. Jacob had 2 wives and he slept with their servants too. So can we the young generation remain in RC and imitate Abraham and Jacob?

Modern religion is a spider web. Once one step on it, death is certain.
