Same sex marriage or same GENDER marriage?
The word sex echos and reflects a lot of connotations and confusion. So it is preferable to use same “gender”.
from the very beginning of human history homo sexuality was practiced. The rainbow of the same gender sex advocates is that of the Greek goddess IRIS. Greek poetess ( 6th cent. BCE) Sappho lived in the island of LESBOS and composed romantic poems on sex between females and is assumed she herself practiced it. Same gender sexual acts are pictured in Egyptian art dated 2400 BCE. It was very common among ancient warriors. Homo sexuality is mentioned in Chinese literature [BCE 600}, in the Laws of Manu [India], in the epic of Gilgamesh[Mesopotamian] , works of Socrates, Plato, Aristotle – according to them homo sexuality helped the control of population growth, in the Hebrew Bible : the love between David and Jonathan, story of Sodom, in the story of Lot, Homo-sexual s in the Jerusalem temple; in the Christian bible [ Paul's letters] All reflects the historical facts that homo-sexuality was there. From very ancient times there were homo-sexual brothels in the Mediterranean areas and Government collected taxes from them. Tel-Av iv [ capital of Israel] is still known as the 'gay capital of the Middle-East.”
homo sexuality is a crime in many countries, but the fact is; it is there and that is why it is controlled by law. U S Supreme court too declared sodomy to be a crime in 1986, but the same court overturned it in 2003.
History, politics, religion and Literature was always dominated by males. So they tried to hide or ignore the homo-sexuality among women. The more women goes in that direction, man was the looser. Even in modern times homo-sexuality is a taboo and many are afraid to come out of the closet. We have to see the tendency of homo-sexuality with broad mindedness & compassion & in the light of modern science. It is not against 'nature's way'.
It could be a method adopted by nature itself to control the exploding population. It could be a silent revolution of the 'week gender' to fight against male domination. Sex revolution is a natural instinct and evolution has triggered homo-sexuality. In traditional sex which is practiced and continued from the beginning of human race, the male is dominant. Women in general are fighting against that male domination. So instead of a male the females chose another female partner. By being so they don't have to suffer the pain and hardship of pregnancy and bringing up children.
Genetic and hormonal changes, the environment we live, the food and chemicals we intake, all do a great part in what we are. It is not a disease which needs treatment. [ you cannot call sick being gay or Lesbian] it is very funny to see homo-sexuality is very dominant in the same religions who regard it as a sin. R C Church is paying off millions to settle law suits. Sex is inevitable for every healthy being. Religion declared it as a sin to take complete control of humans. Impotent men wrote the moral code, what ever they cannot enjoy, they declared it as sin. Augustine became infected with VD due to excessive sex with several women. He too is a major contributor to christian moral code. But we all know it is there, in military, monastery, nunnery even behind the altar. Throw away your masks of hypocrisy. All human relation is not sex. Children love each other with no sexual orientation, people in 70s and 80s marry. All that relationship is not sex driven. It is companionship sometimes with no strings attached.
Why we cannot see same gender marriage in the same criteria?
Above all it is a private matter of individual. Live your life and let them live. In fact they are not doing any harm to the society. They are helping to control population growth. The so called guardians of morality cry fowl because they are still under the influence of the religion they grew up. Religions oppose same gender marriage because those involved individuals has evolved and has freed themselves from the clutches of religion. Homo-sexuality is a threat to religion. None of the priests want to stand in the un- employment line or take a shovel and dig the land. If there is no ignorant people to feed them they too have to do physical work. They want to live like kings, so they make you slaves of ignorance, guilt feeling and sin.
So ignore them. Enjoy your life the way the nature programmed you. Break the chains of religion and make your life a paradise. If you want to be a rainbow be one, let that rainbow in you make all happy.
