Gibran is the third best-selling poet of all time, behind Shakespeare and Laozi.   The world was not different from now during the time of Khalil Gibran (1883-1931).  When he raise the question, “ Why do you leave your wife and  children  and follow death to the distant land for the sake of those who buy glory with your blood and high honor with your mother’s tears?, it home.   There are hundreds of youth from Europe, USA, and other countries  joining ISIS and by travelling to the distant land.  These people are pawns in the hand of religious thugs who want to buy glory and honor with their blood.  Have your ever payed attention to the media to see the mothers shedding tears for their children misguided by the radical religious leaders who doesn’t have any other agenda other than their glory and honor.   The fabric of our society is broken by these hypocrites and our younger generation is getting lost.  What good the writers are doing if their writings are not addressing the day to day issues of the ordinary people?  Let your writing release people from bondage rather than confuse them.  The poets honesty , integrity and sincerity is reflected in each line.   Once again G. Puthenkurish has done a stellar job.

  Poetry, Literature, all forms of art and the art of governing- all must make positive changes in the society.

Unfortunately it is not the way. The present evil in this world has to stop or we all are digging our own grave.

If you are still lamenting about being kicked out of the garden of Eden, get out of the myth and guilt feeling and make a garden of your own.

William Shakespeare 26 April 1564 – 23 April 1616) was an English poet, playwright, and actor, widely regarded as the greatest writer in the English language and the world's pre-eminent dramatist. He is often called England's national poet, and the "Bard of Avon”. Khalil Gibran: He is chiefly known in the English-speaking world for his 1923 book The Prophet, an early example of inspirational fiction including a series of philosophical essays written in poetic English prose. The book sold well despite a cool critical reception, gaining popularity in the 1930s and again especially in the 1960s counterculture. Gibran is the third best-selling poet of all time, behind Shakespeare and Laozi.

Laozi (also Lao-Tzu or Lao-Tze) was a philosopher and poet of ancient China. He is known as the reputed author of the Tao Te Ching and the founder of philosophical Taoism, and as a deity in religious Taoism and traditional Chinese religions. Although a legendary figure, he is usually dated to around the 6th century BCE and reckoned a contemporary of Confucius, but some historians contend that he actually lived during the Warring States period of the 5th or 4th century BCE. A central figure in Chinese culture, Laozi is claimed by both the emperors of the Tang dynasty and modern people of the Li surname as a founder of their lineage. Throughout history, Laozi's work has been embraced by various anti-authoritarian movements.

Many universities still teaches Shakespearean novels even after 400 years.  I have had the chance to study Othello. I don’t want to have an argument with Karyasthan because there are some people in American who can probably talk authentically on this topic.
