Jamaat Condemns
desecration of the Holy Quranby NATO forces in Afghanistan, demands criminals
should be given exemplarypunishment
New Delhi,

“Homosexual is shameful and Unnatural andwill destroy our
family system and the move to legalize in this country the shamefuland
unnatural homosexual relations should be opposed by every right thinkingman and
woman,” said Maulana Syed Jalaluddin Umari, President ofJamaat-e-Islami Hind
while addressing to media personas in a press meet todayheld at its
Headquarters in the capital.
“The efforts under the pretext of safeguardingpersonal
freedom, are quite immoral and against human nature. Islam unambiguouslydeclares
that all such unnatural acts are ‘haraam’ and all other religions alsoregard it
a sin. Legalizing such things will destroy the family system whichwill result
in disintegration of society,” he opined.
Jamaat chief demanded the government of Indiato correctly represent the opinion of the majority of the Indians and adopt aclear stand in the Supreme Court.
On completing of 10 Years to GujaratMuslims’ Massacre,
Maulana Umari said, “the whole country is ashamed of thenaked dance of
communalism and fascism, under the patronage of government, whichtook place in Gujarat in 2002. These disturbances caused the death of
over 2000innocent men, women and children, besides this, thousands were
injured, thousandsof houses were burnt or destroyed, and lakhs were rendered
homeless ordisplaced.”
Strongly condemning all these barbaric acts,the Jamaat chief
demanded that the process of rendering justice to the victimsand punishing the
perpetrators should be expedited.
He said, “this is very shameful for our countrythat a
considerable number of victims, up to now, have not got justice and are
undergoingsuffering.”
Maulana Umari said, “Jamaat thanks Allah thatthrough its
Islami Relief Committee Gujarat, it spent about Rs. 25 crore andprovided to
riot victims financial, legal and moral support. In this connectionthe
dedicated workers of Jamaat had to render not only sacrifices but also
underwentimprisonments. Because of Jamaat’s legal battle, recently, the Gujarat
HighCourt has ordered that the over 500 mosques and religious places, which
weredestroyed in the disturbances, should be compensated by the Gujarat government.”
He demanded the Union government to do its bestto get the
Anti-Communal Violence Bill passed for curtailing violence, making
accountableto administrative machinery and assuring compensation to the
sufferers. He said that Jamaat
reiterated its resolve tocontinue its struggle, with the help of good hearted
people of the country to procurejustice for the sufferers and
Condemning the recent desecration of theHoly Quran by NATO
forces in Afghanistan,
Maulna Umari said, “the NATOforces have been continuously perpetrating
atrocities in Afghanistan
and theyhave once again committed the crime of desecration of the Holy Quran.
This is amuch uncivilized extremely inhuman and deeply painful act. The
criminals shouldbe given exemplary punishment so that this atrocity is not
repeated.”
He further said, “the Holy Quran is thescripture sent down
by the Creator and Master of the Universe for guidance andsalvation of the
entire humanity. It is the height of depravity that somepeople, blinded by
prejudice, commit the crime of desecrating it.”
He invites all the people, especially thepeople of the west,
to seriously read ‘this book sent down by their Lord sothat they may know how
it shows the way to a pious life.’
He reminded the Muslim Ummah to not only readbut
wholeheartedly follow the book of Allah so that they may practically conveythe
message of Islam to the World.
