ലോങ്‌ഐലന്റ്: ന്യൂയോര്‍ക്ക് തെരുവിഥികളേയും പരിസരപ്രദേശങ്ങളേയും ഒരു പരിധിവരെ അടക്കി ഭരിക്കുന്ന ഗുണ്ടാ സംഘാംഗങ്ങളെ മൃഗങ്ങളെന്നു വിശേഷിപ്പിച്ച പ്രസിഡന്റ് ഡോണള്‍ഡ് ട്രംപ് ഇവരെ േനരിടുന്നതിന് പരുക്കന്‍ രീതി ഉപയോഗിക്കുന്ന നിയമപാലകരെ അഭിനന്ദിച്ചു. ഇതിനെകുറിച്ച് സോഷ്യല്‍ മീഡിയയില്‍ ചര്‍ച്ച സജീവമാകുകയാണ്. എംഎസ് 13 ( എംഎസ്-13) എന്നറിയപ്പെടുന്ന ഗുണ്ടാസംഘത്തെ എങ്ങനെ നേരിടുമെന്ന് ന്യൂയോര്‍ക്കിലും പരിസര പ്രദേശങ്ങളിലുമുള്ള നിയമപാലകരുമായി ചര്‍ച്ച ചെയ്യുന്നതിനിടയിലാണ് ട്രംപ് തന്റെ തീരുമാനം അസന്നിഗ്ധമായി പ്രഖ്യാപിച്ചത്. ഗുണ്ടകള്‍ തമ്മിലുള്ള തെരുവു യുദ്ധങ്ങള്‍ മൂലം രക്തപുഴ ഒഴുകുന്നത് ഏറ്റവും അധികം ലോങ്‌ഐലന്റിലും പരിസര പ്രദേശത്തുമാണ്.
ആളുകളെ തട്ടികൊണ്ടുപോകല്‍, കവര്‍ച്ച, മാനഭംഗം തുടങ്ങിയ ഹീന പ്രവര്‍ത്തികള്‍ തുടരുന്ന എം.എസ്.13 ഗുണ്ടാംഗങ്ങള്‍ യാതൊരു ദയവും അര്‍ഹിക്കുന്നില്ലെന്ന് ട്രംപ് ചൂണ്ടിക്കാട്ടി.
അനധികൃത കുടിയേറ്റക്കാരെ തടയുന്നതിന് അതിര്‍ത്തി മതില്‍ നിര്‍മിക്കുന്നതിനായി ആദ്യഘട്ടം 1.6 ബില്യന്‍ ഡോളര്‍ നീക്കി വച്ചിട്ടുണ്ട്. നിര്‍മാണപ്രവര്‍ത്തനങ്ങള്‍ പൂര്‍ത്തിയാക്കുന്നതോടെ മയക്കുമരുന്നു കടത്തുകാര്‍, മനുഷ്യകടത്തുകള്‍ എന്നിവര്‍ അമേരിക്കയിലേക്കു പ്രവേശിക്കുന്നത് തടയാനാകുമെന്ന് പ്രസിഡന്റ് പ്രത്യാശ പ്രകടിപ്പിച്ചു.
