ന്യു യോര്‍ക്ക്: പീഡന ആരോപണത്തെത്തുടര്‍ന്ന് രാജി വച്ച ന്യു യോര്‍ക്ക് സ്റ്റേറ്റ് അറ്റോര്‍ണി ജനറല്‍ എറിക്ക് ഷ്‌ണൈഡര്‍മാനു പകരം മുന്‍ യു.എസ്. അറ്റോര്‍ണി പ്രീത് ഭരാരയെ നിയമിക്കുമെന്നു സൂചനകള്‍.
ശ്രീലങ്കന്‍ വംശജയായ എഴുത്തൂകാരി ഉള്‍പ്പടെ നാലു സ്ത്രീകളാണു ഷ്‌ണൈഡര്‍മാനു എതിരെ ആരോപണവുമായി രംഗത്തു വന്നത്. ലൈംഗികമായി ഷെനൈഡര്‍മാനുമായി ബന്ധമുണ്ടെങ്കിലും തങ്ങളുടെ സമ്മതമില്ലാതെ തങ്ങളെ ഷ്‌ണൈഡര്‍മാന്‍ അടിച്ചു എന്നായിരുന്നു സ്ത്രീകളുടെ ആരോപണം. ന്യു യോര്‍ക്കര്‍ മാസിക ഇത് പ്രസിദ്ധീകരിച്ച് വൈകാതെ ഗവര്‍ണര്‍ ആന്‍ഡ്രൂ കുവോമൊ അടക്കമുള്ള നേതാക്കള്‍ അറ്റൊര്‍ണി ജനറലിന്റെ രാജി ആവശ്യപ്പെടുകയും അദ്ധേഹം രാജി സമര്‍പ്പിക്കുകയുമായിരുന്നു.
