About the author Andrew Pappachen
Andrew Pappachen has been writing Malayalam and English books, mostly
novels since year 2000. His previous four Malayalam books,
THALAMURAKETHEDI, THEERDHADANTHINTTE KADHA, ERUTTIL NINNU
VELICHTHILEKKU, SHOONYTHAYIL NINNU ANANTHAYILEAKKU were also published
by Prabhath Books. Andrew migrated to USA in 1973 at the age of 25. He
has a Masters degree in Chemistry from Kerala University. He took
Master’s degree in Environmental Engineering from Stevens Institute of
Technology, New Jersey, USA , a famous engineering University. He also
has special certification in Water and Air Pollution. He has been
working for government for the past 44 years and recently retired as
Director of Public Works for City of Newark, New Jersey. Andrew
currently is working as an environmental consultant. Andrew is from
Kollad, Kottayam and married to Somini, who is from Vadavathoor,
Kottayam. Andrew has two children Simmy, who lives in Florida and son
Kevin, wife Grace and daughter Ann, who live in Teaneck, New Jersey.
Andrew has been a very active community leader for the past 40 years. He
is the founder leader of World Malayalee Council and he served as its
global chairman and global president for four years each. He is also the
founder member of Kerala Association of New Jersey, Kerala Center New
York, India Day Parade, New York, Coalition of Indian Associations, New
Jersey, Asian American Political Coalition and Asian American Heritage
Council of New Jersey. Andrew also serves as an Environmental
Commissioner in Montville, New Jersey, where he lives.
