“WISE MEN’S DILEMMA”

Appeared a Star in the sky that winter night,

Seeing the guest in the east, the Wise Men rejoiced;

For they read the message she brought.

Wasted they no time or waited they not for any more signs;

Set they off their journey with one desire in heart,

A desire to see the new born King, the birth of whom the Star signaled.

Unique presents they chose for the new born king,

Traveled they miles and came they to the palace of king Herod;

Searching the new born King.

To their dilemma, found they not the new born King in Herod’s palace.

For searched they for an earthly new born king which He was not;

Scholars they were in Sciences of the world,

Scholarly they read the signs in the sky;

But knew they not the prophets or read they not the prophesies;

Through prophets, God spoke of the earthly birth of the son of God,

They prophesied on the place where the new King would be born.

“But you Bethlehem, in the land of Judah, are not the least among the rulers of Judah;

For out of you shall come a ruler who will shepherd My people Israel.”

Left they the palace with knowledge on the city where they would find the new born King.

But to their dilemma, they had no direction to get that place.

Troubled in heart, they lifted their eyes to the sky looking for the Star that saw in the east.

They saw the Star and they were overjoyed.

 The Star went ahead of them guiding their way to the place where the new born King was born,

Saw they the new born King and his mother not in a palace, but in a little hut.

Bowed they down and worshipped the new born king.

Opened they their treasures and presented they gifts of gold, frankincense and myrrh.

Dilemma they encountered but shadowed it not the purpose of their journey.

Saw the new born King and departed they in peace praising the King of kings.
