Warm support from NJ Malyalee Community for Pravasi Movement
 
Malyalee community in New Jersey pledged strong support for the Indian Pravasi Action Council movement.
New Jersey Assemblyman Upendra Chivikula requested all of the Indian Pravasis to join under the banner of IPAC and make a difference.

There are millions of Indians living outside India as citizens of another nation, immigrants and on work visa.    Among them majority belong to lower and middle income group.  These people face many problems in the country they live and also when they return to their homeland.Though the Government of India provide funds in the budget for the welfare and rehabilitation of displaced Indians from abroad the funds are not properly utilized and there is no proper accountability.  Thousand of Indians are charged unnecessary in the pretext of passport surrender and OCI Card issue. Pravassi affairs ministry and Indian Consulates offices abroad are indifferent and not treating NRI’s and OCI card holders with respect and decency.  Thousands of people are having a hard time and Pravasi Indians are facing so many issues at different consulates. There are no proper customer care and management at these consulates.  The consulates do not attend the phone calls or respond to the emails even when there is an emergency situation. We want to bring these major issues into the notice of the authorities. The ministers, politicians and people in power are only interested in Pravasi revenue to the Government of India. They enjoy the hospitality and glory of us Indians when they visit and do nothing in return. It is mainly because we Pravasis are not united even to address our common issues.    
                  
 As you are aware, despite a number of requests/appeals and meetings with Ministers/MPs and Government Secretaries, nothing has been discussed and improve  to resolve many issues and concerns of Pravasi Indians all over the world. Now almost every Pravasi and their organizations feel that 'enough is enough' and it is time for collective action. Please note that a nationwide 'movement' is developing among the Indian Pravasi Community of USA. The name of the movement is INDIAN PRAVASI ACTION COUNCIL (IPAC). IPAC is a collective movement to give awareness to all Indian pravasi community about their rights in a foreign country and the rights as an OCI card holder. Their rights and demands have to be brought to the attention of the  proper authorities. These are not politics or personal agenda.  This is a movement of the Pravasi Indians by the Pravasi Indians.
