“It appears that BLS International which started operations in the US today does not even have accurate phone numbers on their own website. Unfortunately the numbers on the Embassy and all of the consulate sites have the same toll free numbers. After about an hour searching the web I found a 202 area code BLS number which did work and finally spoke to someone. I asked them to give me the correct numbers for their offices but they had the same #s I had.
Long story short, he said that the best and most efficient way to get my visa would be to go in person to the office of my jurisdiction and wait for a week. That would be fine except I live in Florida and not in Houston which is the current jurisdiction for our state.
 
I called visa HQ and they said that they too have to go through BLS to get a visa and that they are aware of how difficult they are to work with. 

Our trip is scheduled and booked for September 30TH and I am seriously concerned that we will be able to get our visas on time! 

I know that there are others out there who also need visas; so my recommendation is to start the process now or find an agency that can take care of dealing with what appears to be a very disorganized company. “

So finally I have to post here, I was hoping it wouldn't come to this but unfortunately it has. Here's my story/nightmare dealing with BLS International Atlanta office so far.

1) My Visa application was sent on 20th August 2013 (UPS)and their website started tracking my application from 28th August. For the longest time it had the standard cookie cutter response of "your application is being processed at Consulate".

2) After repeated phone calls and being told to "please wait a few more days", I found that my application has changed to "requiring renunciation certificate" ( A copy of which I had already sent in my initial application packet)and "Copy of green card" (which wasn't listed on their check list). 

3) I sent all the "pending" documents again on 26th September, which was received by their office (UPS Tracking info).

4) Since then there has been no change in my application status. Upon calling their office I get the usual "check back next week" answer (If I am lucky to get through their phone).

5) Last phone call was answered by a "Sam" whose supervisor "Ron" was busy in a "meeting". (Fake names and fake reason obviously). He blatantly suggested to me that if I can't wait I can withdraw my visa application.

6) I have tried to email everyone that have been listed on earlier replied including Rattanw, Esther Soni and the whole Kabaal, to no avail.

Dealing with BLS International has been an extremely frustrating experience, they make going to DMV seem like going to a Spa

“I became a naturalized citizen in March 2013 and for reasons I will never understand, India does not allow dual-citizenship and therefore I had to relinquish my Indian citizenship and subsequently proceed to apply for a visa to travel to my own country. I am aware of the PIO/OIC card options for “ex-Indians”, but I am planning to travel to India in November and did not want to risk not having my passport in time for that if I apply for one of the other card options. In addition to myself, my husband and in-laws also plan on visiting India (for the very first time) with me.

“When I sent out my papers to apply for renunciation of my Indian citizenship, Travisa was the company that was handling it. I had no issues whatsoever and the process was handled well and completed in a timely manner. When I was ready to send out our passports in July to apply for a tourist visa, I found out that the Indian government has handed the contract over to BLS International for these services starting July 1st. I sent out a packet with mine and my husband’s passports along with the application form and money orders. My in-laws sent out their packet too around the same time, this was over 3 weeks ago. So far mine and my husband’s visa status on BLS shows up as being under progress and as for my in-law’s, there is absolutely no record whatsoever of their passports. They sent it out using FedEx and we have confirmation from FedEx that the packet was delivered and signed for at the same address where we sent ours. I have since called and emailed both BLS-Houston and the Indian Consulate in Houston (which is the jurisdiction under which Colorado falls), with a barely credible response and absolutely no help with the situation. BLS phone lines have voicemail boxes that are full, email ID’s that are yet to yield me a response. I looked up various forums online and discovered that their ineptitude extends so far beyond my situation that it is scary to think that we are all sending our passports and money orders to a company that could very well be run by shysters. My husband is unable to plan any international business trips as his passport is not with him for almost a month now with no end in sight. My in-laws have no idea what happened to their passports and the money they sent as neither BLS nor the consulate have been able to help with tracing it.

I’m writing to USA's premier news agency in the hope that you can help bring more attention to this pathetic state of affairs at this agency. This is such a disgrace to India and her government, especially since the issuing of visas isn’t a new venture and one that, I’m sad to admit, was well handled by a non-Indian company (Travisa), prior to July.”
