ഭക്തിയായ്‌ ജീവിപ്പാനാഹ്വാനമേകും സം-
കീര്‍ത്തനമങ്ങു രചിച്ചതല്ലേ!
അല്ലല്ലബലഭയ്‌ക്കയമേകേണ്ടയാള്‍
അല്ലയവളെ കയ്യേറിയെന്നോ?
പാതകമാകുമീ കൃത്യത്തില്‍, ഭൂപേന്ദ്രന്‍
ആതങ്കത്തോടു ദിനങ്ങള്‍ തള്ളി.
തെറ്റുകള്‍ കാട്ടിയാല്‍, കുറ്റമായ്‌ മാറിടും,
അറ്റുപോം നമ്മുടെ സ്വസ്ഥതയും.
പിന്നീടു ദാവീദു കേട്ടുടന്‍ ശ്രോതയില്‍,
തന്വംഗി ഗര്‍ഭം ധരിച്ച വാര്‍ത്ത.
മന്നനാകട്ടതില്‍ പങ്കില്ലെന്നായിടാന്‍
നന്നായ്‌ തിരിച്ചവന്‍ ബുദ്ധിയന്ത്രം.
ഹിത്യനാ`മൂരിയാ'തന്‍ ചാരത്തെത്തുവാന്‍,
കത്തൊന്നയച്ചവന്‍ തല്‍ഫലമായ്‌.
മന്നന്റെ കല്‌പനയാദരിച്ചാഭടന്‍
സന്നതഗാത്രനായെത്തി, ജവം.
പത്‌നിയാം ബത്‌ശേബയോടൊത്താ രാപാര്‍പ്പാന്‍
പിന്നവന്‍ കല്‌പിച്ചാ യോദ്ധാവോടായ്‌.
എന്നാലാ ശാസന പോലെ വര്‍ത്തിക്കുവാ-
നന്നവന്‍ കൂസിയില്ലൊട്ടുപോലും.
``കൂട്ടുകാര്‍ ധീരമായ്‌ പോര്‍ക്കളത്തില്‍ പട -
വെട്ടുമ്പോള്‍ പ്രേയസീ മാറണഞ്ഞ്‌,
കേളിയിലാടുവാന്‍ തക്കപോലെന്‍ മനം,
പാളിപ്പോയില്ലെന്റെ തമ്പുരാനെ''.
ഈവിധം ചൊല്ലിത്തന്‍ സ്‌നേഹിതരൊത്തവന്‍
മേവീ കൊട്ടാര വളപ്പില്‍ത്തന്നെ.

For your information : King David is not a historical person. Judaic Literature created this legend. The acts of David or what is written as done by David is a collection of stories about the kings of Judea. The Psalms are not written by any single person. They are folk stories hymns that was circulated for years. Like the 'Nadan pattukal. In the book of Psalms itself you can see different names attributed to different chapters /songs. During the times of kings it was a common practice to devote the art someone created to honor the king. The king got happy and famous and the artist got money. As per the bible, the life of king David was not peaceful. Most of the time he was fighting or fleeing from his enemies or chasing his wives and concubines = 300 of them. Logically and historically it is not possible for David to write the Psalms. His personality is not reflected in them. What looks like his; could be written by someone, a scribe from Judea. The gov. of Israel spent lot of money on research to find out the authenticity of the bible and events recorded in it. Judaic scholars has come to the conclusion that the books in Old Testament are written in a time frame of 800 to 400 or even 200 BCE by a school of priestly scribes.They were the priests in exile in Babylon and the refugees from Egypt. The Israeli gov. has even ended the research works. The books said to be written by Moses were written hundreds of years after his life time,even if he was a historical person. The heroes : Moses, Aaron, Joshua, Sampson, David, Solomon and so on are not real historical persons. They are products of literary imagination. All these are explained in Vol. 3 of -a bible for the new millennium.
