Fearing a ‘Blood Bath,’ Republican Senators Begin to Edge Away From Trump The statements offer an answer to the question of when Republicans might begin to repudiate trump after years of embracing him: the moment they believed he threatened their own political survival. For nearly four years, congressional Republicans have ducked and dodged an unending cascade of offensive statements and norm-shattering behavior from President Trump, ignoring his caustic and scattershot Twitter feed and penchant for flouting party orthodoxy, and standing quietly by as he abandoned military allies, attacked American institutions and stirred up racist and nativist fears. But now, facing grim polling numbers and a flood of Democratic money and enthusiasm that has imperiled their majority in the Senate, Republicans on Capitol Hill are beginning to publicly distance themselves from the president. The shift, less than three weeks before the election, indicates that many Republicans have concluded that Mr. Trump is heading for a loss in November. And they are grasping to save themselves and rushing to re-establish their reputations for a coming struggle for their party’s identity. Senator Ben Sasse of Nebraska unleashed on Mr. Trump in a telephone town hall event with constituents on Wednesday, eviscerating the president’s response to the coronavirus pandemic and accusing him of “flirting” with dictators and white supremacists and alienating voters so broadly that he might cause a “Republican blood bath” in the Senate. He was echoing a phrase from Senator Ted Cruz of Texas, who warned of a “Republican blood bath of Watergate proportions.” Senator Lindsey Graham of South Carolina, one of the president’s most vocal allies, predicted the president could very well lose the White House. Even the normally taciturn Senator Mitch McConnell, Republican of Kentucky and the majority leader, has been more outspoken than usual in recent days about his differences with the president, rejecting his calls to “go big” on a stimulus bill. That was a reflection of the fact that Senate Republicans — who have rarely broken with the president on any major legislative initiative in four years — are unwilling to vote for the kind of multitrillion-dollar federal aid plan that Mr. Trump has suddenly decided would be in his interest to embrace. “Voters are set to drive the ultimate wedge between Senate Republicans and Trump,” said Alex Conant, a former aide to Senator Marco Rubio and a former White House spokesman. “It’s a lot easier to get along when you’re winning elections and gaining power. But when you’re on the precipice of what could be a historic loss, there is less eagerness to just get along.” Republicans could very well hang onto both the White House and the Senate, and Mr. Trump still has a firm grip on the party base, which may be why even some of those known for being most critical of him, like Mr. Sasse and Senator Mitt Romney of Utah, declined to be interviewed about their concerns.

There is a possibility of Pelosi to be the first female President. Trump will disappear soon after the election and Pence will resign immediately. That is going around in Washington

GOP Chair Calls On Republicans To Get Rid Of Trump. New Hampshire Republican Party Chairwoman Jennifer Horn called on her colleagues to get rid of Donald Trump in an op-ed she wrote for USA TODAY. “As a former Republican state party chair, I understand well how difficult it is to even imagine voting outside the party, and I understand the sense of loyalty to party that decades of activism engenders,” wrote Horn. “But to pledge allegiance to a political party, void of principle or honor, is an empty oath that will not serve country or conscience. Where once we stood together to advocate for responsible governance, individual liberty, equal justice and opportunity for all, today’s GOP platform is nothing more than a vow to support, protect, defend and defer to Donald Trump.” Horn is one of the founders of the conservative anti-Trump group The Lincoln Project “After decades of inciting fear among the party faithful at what would happen to America should we abandon our fight for conservatism, the GOP has sold out to a president who is in no way conservative,” wrote Horn. “Trump has grown the deficit to record highs and put the national debt on the same path. His assaults on equality and liberty are innumerable, including rolling back housing and employment protections for LGBTQ Americans, attacking the free press, denying science and medical facts in the face of a pandemic, and making the corruption of Richard Nixon look like penny poker.” Trump’s “pro-life” stance is a fraud, argued Horn: “To be pro-life means to care for life — all life, at all stages, in all conditions. Trump’s assaults on life are egregious and daily. He demeans and degrades minorities, women, the elderly, immigrants and the disabled.” Nor, she argued, does he have any respect for the troops, for civil rights, or for anything central to the protection and preservation of democracy. “Trump has destroyed the foundations of traditional conservatism and the American institutions upon which our democracy is built. He does not deserve your loyalty, and neither does the party that has allowed it to happen. The only way we can reclaim our principles and build a conservative future is to first defeat him,” wrote Horn. “This election poses a unique challenge. It will test not Republican vs. Democrat or Trump vs. Biden, but rather, ‘We the People,’” concluded Horn. “It is our role in this constitutional republic, our leadership, and our dedication to the promise of America that is being tested. Trump or America. We cannot have both.”

Trump repeatedly botched Rep. Matt Gaetz's name at a Florida rally, calling him the name of a former aide who was convicted. Yelena Dzhanova. Sat, October 17, 2020, 12:49 PM EDT. Donald Trump mixed up the names of Florida Rep. Matt Gaetz and Rick Gates, a former aide who was convicted after pleading guilty to crimes related to Russian interference in the 2016 election. Gaetz has been one of Trump's most vocal supporters. Rick Gates, the man Trump appeared to confuse the Florida representative for, was not present at the rally. Gates in 2018 pleaded guilty to two counts of conspiracy and false statements during former special counsel Robert Mueller's investigation into Russian interference in the 2016 election. Visit Business Insider's homepage for more stories. During a campaign rally Friday night, President Donald Trump mixed up the names of Florida Rep. Matt Gaetz and Rick Gates, a former aide who was convicted after pleading guilty to crimes related to Russian interference in the 2016 election. Gaetz is one of Trump's staunchest supporters. Trump, pointing to Gaetz sitting off camera, referred to him multiple times as "Rick Gates" or "Rick." The botched names first came up as Trump tore into Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer, who last week was the target of an attempted kidnap. The FBI identified and arrested a group of men they say are responsible for the plot. Whitmer after the arrests criticized Trump for his rhetoric, calling him "complicit" in stoking extreme violence in the United States. "Then she said it was my fault," said Trump, referring to Whitmer's statements against him. "It was my people that caught them. It was Trump's fault. It's always Trump's fault." "Can it ever be, like, Rick Gates' fault?" Trump continued, pointing to Gaetz. "I mean, eh? It's always Trump's fault, Rick."

CIA, other spy agencies gathered intel on Rudy Giuliani's dealings with alleged Russian agents. Ken Dilanian and Carol E. Lee.Fri, October 16, 2020, 2:14 PM EDT. WASHINGTON — The CIA and other spy agencies gathered intelligence on Rudy Giuliani's dealings with alleged Russian intelligence agents last year and passed that information on to the White House, a source familiar with the matter told NBC News. The existence of the intelligence was first reported by the Washington Post and later confirmed by The New York Times, both of which reported that White House national security adviser Robert O'Brien warned President Donald Trump about it. NBC News has not confirmed that detail. The Post cited four former officials while the Times relied on four current and former officials. John Ullyot, a spokesperson for the National Security Council, said in a statement that "the characterization of the meeting as described in reports is not accurate," but he did not dispute that the president was informed that his lawyer was dealing with alleged Russian agents. Spokespersons for the CIA and the Office of the Director of National Intelligence declined to comment. American intelligence agencies were not spying on Giuliani, but on the people with whom he was talking, the source said, including Andrii Derkach, who has been identified by the Treasury Department as a Russian agent. That collection led them to learn about Giuliani's dealings with Derkach and other Russian operatives who wanted to feed him information attempting to discredit Democrat Joe Biden, the source said. Rudy will go to Jail before trump & children

The Taliban officially endorse Trump's reelection bid "Trump might be ridiculous for the rest of the world, but he is sane and wise man for the Taliban." Donald Trump has won the support of the Taliban for his reelection bid, the Afghanistan-based militant group told CBS News on Friday. The reason for this, a spokesperson told CBS, was that they hoped the incumbent Republican president would work on ending American military presence in the country. "We hope he will win the election and wind up US military presence in Afghanistan," Taliban spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid explained. Another Taliban senior leader even expressed serious concern for the president's health, following news of his diagnosis with the coronavirus. "When we heard about Trump being COVID-19 positive we got worried for his health, but seems he is getting better," the senior leader told CBS News. The support showed by the Taliban comes as Trump has expressed the desire to wind down US military presence in the country after 19 years. At the time of writing, the number of US troops in Afghanistan stands at 5,000, with national security adviser Robert O'Brien promising the number will drop by 50% by early 2021. Part of this withdrawal, however, is part of a pact signed between the Trump administration and the Taliban in February which specified that it should break away from the terrorist group al-Qaeda and share power with their rivals in the Afghan government. Many US military commanders are against reducing the number of troops below 4,500 unless the Taliban makes their break with al-Qaeda official, CBS News reported. Trump so far is endorsed by Putin, Proud boys, KKK, NRA, King-jung-un, Binladen, & Taliban.

I am grateful that I live in this country. This is a privilege . We came to this country for different reasons. Some came because of the economic opportunity, some came because they had to. Some came because they found this place where they can make a better living than. their own home country. Some came to further their education. Whatever the reason, we are here. We thank God for this opportunity to live in this land of the free and home of the brave. As we settled here, we slowly began to learn and grow in a different culture. Again, this privilege is something that we should be thankful for. Most of us were able to raise our children in a newer environment assimilating our culture and a “foreign culture”. Most of us are proud of our accomplishments and our children who excelled in schools. As we got more comfortable here, some of us turned into politics. Years ago, politics here had better meaning. There was a mutual respect for the people from different political backgrounds. The elections were done every four years and we elected the best candidate that were more promising. As back home, some of them made promises that they could not fulfill. Those people had to pay their price either through impeachment or premature resignation. The best thing that I learned was that everyone accepted the leader and went on with their lives. Lives were simpler. There was pride in their own country no matter what political affiliation we had. Fast forward to “Today “. Lot of things have changed, right? We do not see eye to eye to others who don’t have our own political views. Malayalees are no exception. Respect has lost its meaning. Isn’t this what we are seeing today? If we don’t respect our leaders, how can we expect respect from our own family that unfortunately include our children? Sadly, some of us take the easy way out. Our personal interests took precedence over our family. This resulted in many tragic ends. What can we do now? From the day Mr. Trump took the helm of this country , the Democrats were relentless in their efforts to oust him. They would rather this country go down the tubes than seeing him stay. As of today they have not changed their mission. What a pathetic group of people! In spite of all these challenges and name calling, Mr. Trump stood tall and faced them like a true leader. He had to face the international community also. Challenges were present as usual. Through his leadership style, he kept them away where they are supposed to be. No foreign leader is able to challenge him. WE ARE HERE TODAY BECAUSE OF MR. TRUMP. We cannot and should not forget that. Unfortunately we are under an attack from the corona pandemic. Nobody saw its emergence. But as soon as he was able to act, he did what was necessary. Again Democrats tried their best to blame it on Mr. Trump. Aren’t we that dumb to believe these IDIOTS? I feel sorry for Mr. Trump because he had to put up with these people who don’t offer any meaningful solutions. Mr. Trump never said that no one should or shouldn’t wear masks just like he doesn’t say what you should eat or wear. It is up to us to make that decision. See how much freedom we have in this country! Do you really want some leader to tell us how we should behave? ‘‘This is where your common sense matters. If you are STUPID, you pay the price. As a long time resident of this great country and not having any political affiliation, l pray for Mr. Trump's re lection . I hope you are listening.
