ന്യൂഡൽഹി: രാഷ്ട്രപതിയുടെ പത്മ പുരസ്കാരങ്ങൾ പ്രഖ്യാപിച്ചു. ഗായിക  കെ.എസ്. ചിത്രക്ക് പത്മഭൂഷണും ഗാനരചയിതാവ് കൈതപ്രം ദാമോദരൻ നമ്പൂതിരിക്ക് പത്മശ്രീയും ലഭിച്ചു.
 
102 പേരെ  രാജ്യം​ പത്​മശ്രീ പുരസ്​കാരം നൽകി ആദരിച്ചു. 7  പേർക്ക്​ പത്​മവിഭൂഷനും പത്ത്​ പേർക്ക്​ പത്മഭൂഷനും ലഭിച്ചു.
 
പാവകളി കലാകാരൻ ഷൊർണൂരിലെ കെ.കെ. രാമചന്ദ്രൻ പുലവർ, ഹൈന്ദവാചാരാനുഷ്ഠാനങ്ങളെക്കുറിച്ച് ഒട്ടേറെ ഗ്രന്ഥങ്ങൾ എഴുതിയ ബാലൻ പൂതേരി, ആദിവാസികൾക്കായി ആതുരസേവനം നടത്തിയ വയനാട്ടിലെ ഡോ. ധനഞ്ജയ് ദിവാകർ സച്‌ദേവ്, കായിക പരിശീലകൻ ഒ.എം. മാധവൻ നമ്പ്യാർ എന്നിവർക്ക് പദ്മശ്രീയും നൽകും. തമിഴ്‌നാട്ടിൽ നിന്നുള്ള  ഗായിക ബോംബെ ജയശ്രീക്കും പദ്മശ്രീ പുരസ്‌കാരമുണ്ട്.
 
ഗായകൻ എസ്​.പി ബാലസുബ്രഹ്​മണ്യത്തിന്​ മരണാനന്തര ബഹുമതിയായി പത്മവിഭൂഷൻ ലഭിച്ചു. ലക്ഷദ്വീപ്​ സ്വദേശിയും സമുദ്രഗവേഷകനുമായ അലി മണിക്​ഫാന്​ പത്മശ്രീ ലഭിച്ചു.
 
 എസ്​.പി ബാലുസുബ്രഹ്​മണ്യത്തിന്​ പുറമെ ജപ്പാൻ പ്രധാനമന്ത്രി ഷിൻസോ ആബെ, ഡോ. ബെല്ലെ മോനപ്പ ഹെഗ്​ഡെ, നരീ​ന്ദർ സിങ്​ കപാനി (മരണാനന്തരം), മൗലാന വാഹിദുദ്ദീൻഖാൻ, ബി.ബി. ലാൽ, സുദർശൻ സഹോ എന്നിവരാണ്​ പത്​മവിഭൂഷൻ ലഭിച്ച മറ്റുള്ളവർ.
 
ഗായിക കെ.എസ്​. ചിത്രയെ കൂടാതെ അസം മുൻമുഖ്യമ​ന്ത്രി തരുൺ ഗൊഗോയ് ​(മരണാനന്തരം), ചന്ദ്രശേഖർ കമ്പറ, ബി.ജെ.പി നേതാവും മുൻ ​േലാക്​സഭ സ്​പീക്കറുമായ സുമിത്ര മഹാജൻ, നൃപേന്ദ്ര മിശ്ര, മുതിർന്ന എൽ.ജെ.പി നേതാവും മുൻ കേന്ദ്രമന്ത്രിയുമായിരുന്ന രാംവിലാസ്​ പാസ്വാൻ (മരണാനന്തരം), ബി.ജെ.പി നേതാവും ഗുജറാത്ത്​ മുൻ മുഖ്യമന്ത്രിയുമായിരുന്ന കേശുഭായ്​ പ​േട്ടൽ (മരണാനന്തരം), കൽബേ സാദിഖ്​ (മരണാനന്തരം), രജ്​നീകാന്ത്​ ദേവിദാസ്​ ഷ്രോഫ്​, തർലോചൻ സിങ്​ എന്നിവർക്കാണ്​​ പത്​മഭൂഷൻ പുരസ്​കാരം ലഭിച്ചത്​.

Ram Vilas, Tarun Gogoi, Keshubhai Patel conferred with Padma Bhushan posthumously

New Delhi, Jan 25 (IANS) The government on Monday conferred the Padma Bhushan award posthumously on former Union Minister Ram Vilas Paswan, former Assam Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi and former Gujarat Chief Minister Keshubhai Patel .

One of the tallest Dalit leaders from Bihar and the founder of the Lok Janshakti Party (LJP), Paswan passed away on October 8 last year, just ahead of the crucial Bihar assembly polls. He had undergone heart surgery days before his death.

He was the Union Minister for Consumer Affairs in the Narendra Modi-led Union government.

The government also conferred three-time Assam Chief Minister and veteran Congress leader Tarun Gogoi with Padma Bhushan posthumously.

Gogoi passed away on November 23 last year after recovering from Covid-19.

Gogoi rose from grassroots politics to steer the restive northeastern state towards order and development after decades of bloody insurgency. He became a Lok Sabha MP for the first time in 1971. He remained the Lok Sabha member till 2001. He is also the state's longest-serving chief minister between 2001 and 2016.

The government also conferred the Padma Bhushan award to former Gujarat Chief Minister Keshubhai Patel posthumously. Patel became the first BJP Chief Minister of Gujarat in 1995. He passed away on October 29 last year after recovering from Covid at the age of 93.

Patel was a worker of the Rashtriya Swayamsewak Sangh (RSS) and was popularly called Keshubapa in the state.

Besides these three tall leaders, the government also conferred the Padma Bhushan on former Lok Sabha speaker Sumitra Mahajan and former bureaucrat Nripendra Mishra, who served as Principal Secretary to Prime Minister Narendra Modi between 2014 and 2019.

The government also conferred the Padma Bhushan on former Rajya Sabha Member of Parliament Tarlochan Singh.

The government also conferred the Padma Shri award on former Union Minister and former BJP MP from Assam's Guwahati Bijoya Chakravarty.

The list of the Padma Shri winners included Colonel Quazi Sajjad Ali Zahir, who defected from the Pakistani Army to join the Bangladeshi Liberation War in 1971.

Former Japan PM Shinzo Abe among 119 Padma winners for 2021

New Delhi, Jan 25 (IANS) Former Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe is among 119 recipients whom the government on Monday selected for Padma awards--one of the highest civilian awards in the country.

The Ministry of Home Affairs on Monday announced the awards that include seven Padma Vibhushan awards, 10 Padma Bhushan awards and 102 Padma Shri awards.

The Padma Vibhushan, the country's second highest civilian award, has been conferred on Japan's longest-serving Prime Minister Shinzo Abe in the public affairs category. Tamil Nadu's veteran musician and playback singer S.P. Balasubramaniam also got the honour, albeit posthumously.

Indian-American physicist Narinder Singh Kapany, best known for his work on fibre optics, has also been awarded the Padma Vibhushan posthumously.

Besides them, Karnataka's famous cardiologist Belle Monappa Hegde; Indian Islamic scholar and peace activist Maulana Wahiduddin Khan, who is known for having written a commentary on the Quran; Indian archaeologist and Hindutva historical revisionist B. B. Lal; and sculptor Sudarshan Sahoo is among other Padma Vibhushan recipients.

Former Assam Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi, politician and former Cabinet Minister Ram Vilas Paswan, former Chief Minister of Gujarat Keshubhai Patel and Indian Islamic scholar Kalbe Sadiq are among the 10 Padma Bhushan awardees who were honoured with the third-highest civilian award posthumously.

The awards are given across various disciplines -- art, social work, public affairs, science and engineering, trade and industry, medicine, literature and education, sports, and civil service, among others.

This time, 29 of the awardees are women and the list includes 10 persons from the category of foreigners/NRI/PIO/OCI, 16 posthumous awardees and one transgender award winner.

The Padma Vibhushan is awarded for exceptional and distinguished service, the Padma Bhushan for distinguished service of high order, and the Padma Shri for distinguished service in any field.

The awards are conferred by the President of India at ceremonial functions which are held at Rashtrapati Bhawan usually around March or April every year.
