Mr. George Kurian was a very soft-spoken person, but a man capable of taking tough decisions to achieve his life’s goals.  One will feel quite relaxed in his company.  Even a telephonic conversation with him was very enjoyable.   I have never felt unhappy even after a small talk with him.

He was a man of many ideas.   He was highly individualistic:  After all, it is an individual, not a crowd that changes the world! 

We had an interesting excursion to poet Walt Whitman’s tomb at Camden, New Jersey with Mr. George Kurian.  We recited there Whitman’s poems. 

When I chose three authors of English books to decorate the blurb of my first collection of English poems (“A Sojourner’s Rhapsodies In Alphabetical Order”), I had no hesitation to pick him up from the stock of American Malayali writers in English.  Later on, I was very pleased to write a short introduction to the collection of poems and stories in English by his six-year old grand-daughter, Arianna, a very promising budding literary talent.    

Mr.  Sudhir Panikkaveettil wrote an excellent review of the Malayalam version of his novel on Nagaland, which Mr.  George Kurian rated as the best review ever published on his book.  

I was introduced to Mr. George Kurian by Yoga Guru Mr. Thomas Koovalloor.  I join Mr.  Koovalloor  and others in expressing my deep-felt sorrow on his sad demise, and convey my condolence to his wife Mrs. Annamma and other family members. 

I believe he will live through his literary contributions and many untold good deeds!
