Meryl Streep got her 19th Academy Award nomination for "Into The Woods"
Thursday, making her the most nominated artiste in Oscar history.
The Oscar nominations were announced Thursday, and the 65-year-old was named for her role as the witch in "Into The Woods".
Streep
will be competing in the Best Actress in a Supporting Role category
alongside Patricia Arquette for "Boyhood", Emma Stone for "Birdman",
Laura Dern for "Wild" and Keira Knightley for "The Imitation Game".
The
star, who shows off her singing talents in the movie, is hoping to take
home her fourth Oscar. She previously won a Best Actress Academy Award
for "The Iron Lady" in 2012 and "Sophie’s Choice” in 1983, and a Best
Supporting Actress gong for “Kramer vs. Kramer” in 1980.
Disney's
“Into The Woods” has received three nominations in total for the
upcoming Oscars ceremony, which will take place Feb 22.
