ഒഹായോ: ബധിരരുടെയിടയിൽ പാസ്റ്ററായി സേവനമനുഷ്ഠിച്ചിരുന്ന   അരുൺ ജേക്കബ്, 46, അന്തരിച്ചു. 

ഭാര്യ മെലിസ. മക്കൾ :  നഥാനിയേൽ, ജെറമിയ,  റബേക്ക.  പത്തനാപുരം  ചാച്ചിപ്പുന്ന   പരേതരായ  മുരുപ്പേൽ വർഗീസ് ചാക്കോ, ഏലമ്മ ഗീവർഗീസ് എന്നിവരാണ് മാതാപിതാക്കൾ. സഹോദരി അമൃത  (ജൂബി പാപ്പൻ) സഹോദരൻ  അജിൽ  ജേക്കബ് (ടിഷ)

2008 വരെ  അരുൺ  DOOR ഇന്റർനാഷണലിൽ പ്രവർത്തിച്ചു. ഇന്ത്യയിലെ ബധിരർക്കായി യുട്യൂബ് വഴി വീഡിയോകൾ തയ്യാറാക്കുകയും ബധിരരെ ഓൺലൈൻ വഴി പഠിപ്പിക്കുകയുമായിരുന്നു ഇപ്പോൾ  അദ്ദേഹത്തിന്റെ മിനിസ്ട്രി. ബധിരരായ ആളുകൾക്കും അത് മറ്റുള്ളവരെ പഠിപ്പിക്കാൻ കഴിയുന്ന വിധത്തിൽ ബൈബിൾ ഭാഗങ്ങൾ വിശദീകരിക്കുന്നതിൽ അദ്ദേഹം വിദഗ്ദനായിരുന്നു  . 

DOOR ഇന്റർനാഷണലിൽ പ്രവർത്തിക്കെ  കെനിയയിലെ നെയ്‌റോബിയിൽ ഒരു വർഷത്തേക്ക് ബധിര ക്രിസ്ത്യൻ നേതൃത്വ പരിശീലന കേന്ദ്രത്തിലേക്ക് മൂന്ന് ബധിര ഇന്ത്യക്കാരുടെ ടീമിനൊപ്പം   അദ്ദേഹത്തെ  തിരഞ്ഞെടുത്തു.  സൗത്ത് വെസ്റ്റ് ബാപ്റ്റിസ്റ്റ് തിയോളജിക്കൽ സെമിനാരിയിൽ നിന്ന് ക്രോണോളജിക്കൽ ബൈബിൾ പഠനത്തിനുള്ള സർട്ടിഫിക്കറ്റോടെയാണ് അരുൺ ബിരുദം നേടിയത്.

2004 നവംബർ 25-ന് അദ്ദേഹം മെലിസ സ്കോട്ടിനെ വിവാഹം കഴിചു.

2004-ൽ അരുണും മെലിസയും DOOR യൂറോപ്പ് മന്ത്രാലയത്തിലേക്ക് മാറുകയും 2005 വരെ ബുഡാപെസ്റ്റീൽ  (ഹംഗറി)  ജോലി ചെയ്യുകയും ചെയ്തു.   2005 മുതൽ 2008 വരെ   തായ്‌ലൻഡിലെ DOOR-Asia മന്ത്രാലയത്തിലേക്ക് മാറ്റി. 2008-ൽ യു.എസിലേക്ക്.  

ഒഹായോയിലേക്ക് മടങ്ങുന്നതിന് മുമ്പ് 5 ½ വർഷം ലോംഗ് ഐലൻഡ് NY യിലെ ബധിരർക്കുള്ള ജീസസ് മിനിസ്ട്രിയിൽ പാസ്റ്ററായും അരുൺ സേവനമനുഷ്ഠിച്ചു.    

Obituary

Arun Jacob, age 46, passed away on Sunday February 26, 2023.He was born on September 27, 1976 in kerala, India and Arun leaves behind his wife Melissa, sons Nathanael,Jeremiah and daughter Rebekah. Arun’s Parents are Late.  Muruppel Varghese Chacko and Late.Alamma Geevarghese and mother-in-law Patricia Penvose. Sister Amritha (Juby Pappan) and their sons Josh and Dan, Brother Ajil Jacob (Tisha) and daughter Erin Elsa, Brother-in-law Kelly Scott and daughter Cameron and son Kyle.

Arun was first introduced to DOOR International in 1998 when DOOR sent a team to India, which included his wife Melissa. Arun was a student in a Chronological Bible Storying Teaching which he found very helpful in learning the Bible.  He was later selected to go with a team of three Deaf Indians to a Deaf Christian Leadership Training Center for one year in Nairobi, Kenya. Arun graduated in 2001 with a Certificate from Southwest Baptist Theological Seminary for Chronological Bible Storying.  
Arun was first employed by DOOR-India in January 2002. He worked as a trainer for the Deaf Leadership and Video Editing Director until 2004. On November 25, 2004 he married Melissa Scott and the two served together faithfully.  
In 2004 Arun and Melissa was transferred to DOOR Europe ministry and worked in Budapest Hungary until 2005.  DOOR relocated them to DOOR-Asia ministry in Chiang Mai Thailand from 2005 until 2008. In 2008 he was transferred to DOOR-USA.  DOOR International’s co-workers present and past remember Arun for his joy, contagious laughter, and his gift for storytelling.
From 2008 to present Arun taught Bible Storying online to deaf people in India. He was gifted in explaining bible passages so that deaf people could also teach it to others. He was noted for his love for singing so visually.
Arun also served as a Pastor at Deaf for Jesus Ministries in Long Island NY for 5 ½ years before returning to Ohio.
Arrangements are under the care and guidance of Behm Funeral Home, 175 South Broadway, Geneva, OH 44041.   
Visiting hours are on Friday March 3, 2023 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM with services immediately following.
