Aleyamma Ignatious (Elsy). wife of the late Ignatious Paul of Nallankara House, Kuriachira, Thrissur, Kerala, died in New York   on July 14 after prolonged illness. She was 68.

She was born and brought up as the 4^th of the six children of late K.T. Abraham and Aleyamma Abraham of Mullasseril (Kattil)  Pallippad. She moved to Thrissur after her wedding in 1975.

They have three children: Nidhin, Sudhin and Vidhin.  Since her husband passed away in their early childhood, she single-handedly brought up them and took every effort to give them a healthy upbringing,  providing them a good education and Christian  discipline.

After Elsy immigrated to the United States with her family in 2000, she settled down in New Hyde Park, NY. She was a member of the Epiphany Mar Thoma Church in Ozone Park, New York and attended the church regularly until she was taken sick four years ago and admitted in nursing home.

Apart from having been a loving and caring mother and sister, she was also a good host to all who visited her house. Her trust in God was unshakable and she led a prayer-filled life.

Besides her children, Elsy is survived by her daughters-in-law Nadia, Rinu and Sigi, grandchildren Niya, Ilana, Isaac and Aleah, and brothers Abraham Thariath, Mathew Abraham and Abraham George of New York and sisters Annamma Mathew of Nangiarkulangara and Mariamma Koshy of Detroit

Wake and Funeral Services are scheduled for Satuday July 25 at 11 am in NY led by Rev. Sibu Pallichira, vicar of Epiphany church. Since current restrictions limit attendance, only immediate families are encouraged to attend. Live stream of the service is planned.. Burial service will take place in Thrissur, Kerala.
